Yanks pursuing Ibanez?

The Phillies, Cubs, Mets, Rays, Yankees and a half-dozen other teams are pursuing Ibanez, who last year made $5.5 million. He wants a multi-year contract, and the Mariners weren’t in position to offer him one.

Put this one in the "Yankees offer contract to Odalis Perez" category. I put any stock in this one - if the Yankees are going to upgrade their offense it'll be through Manny Ramirez, Mark Teixeira, Adam Dunn or a center fielder. While Ibanez has put up some solid numbers over the past few seasons, I don't see him signing giving up a draft pick to sign him.
